WEEK 9 Samut Prakaan

Dear Friends and Family

Well this week Elder Gage and I went to visit a member who is a recent convert for about a year. She hasnt come to church in about a month and we dont know why. When we went we talked to her for a little bit then we asked her why she didnt come. She said well every week I have a customer show up and I have to cut her hair. So we asked her why she got baptized and we told her a story. This lesson was led by the spirit the whole way I will tell you that now. There is a daughter and mother and each week they set up a time to talk about life. Each week the mother wants to know how her daughter is doing and wants to be apart of her life. Each week the daughter doesnt show up and leaves the mom waiting for her daughter. Or the daughter will call the mom and say well I was thinking about you today and I hope you are doing well. It isnt the same. God wants to meet with us for 3 hours at church each week. That is it. This lady said that she prays when she doesnt go and it helps her remember. It is not the same! We need to go to church because that is where we go to learn and be with God. It is very important.

Okay I am sorry this letter is short this week but I will tell you that we had another baptism. It was wonderful! We meet this lady named Boo about a week ago and we got her baptized! She was way good! She accepted all that we taught. The morning that we baptized her was a wonderful morning. I do have to state the fact that she got up at 4 in the morning to get to the church to be baptized at 7:30. The doors to the church were opened and the sun was shining and it was quite. We had a wonderful service. It was really great! I loved that we were able to find another lost sheep!

sorry it was so short this week. We had a interview with our mission president so it took some time.

I love you all!

Week 8 Samut Prakaan

Dear Friends and Family

This past week was really great! The holiday that was this week was called Loy Gratome ( I dont know how to spell it). It is what they do off the movie Tangled, with the floating lanterns and the boats in the water. It was really cool! We couldnt have the lanterns because we are in the city, but its all good. So this Friday I got to go on a switch off with my Zone Leader. He taught me that we need to be bold in our teaching but not over bearing. Christ was bold but he surely backed everything up with happiness. I know that I need to watch what I do and say everyday. In lessons, talking to members or just inviting. I need to take a step back and ask myself what would Christ ask this person or tell this person. I know I will try and be more Christ like this week. The Zone Leader used D&C 121:36-45 to talk about being bold and sharp. We just cant say oh you will go to hell if you arent baptized and if you dont keep the commandments. You have to tell them why it is important to them and how it can help them. So I know for me this week I will try and do as my Zone Leader has directed me. So that was really good. Also this week I had the opportunity to fix the sink at our church. This was a problem because we made dinner for a bunch of people and we needed to fix the sink so we could wash the dishes. So the job fell on my shoulders to fix it. Elder, Elder fix this. Well what do we have to fix it with? Umm nothing. Well get me some electrical tape and I can fix this. So one of the members tried to fix it and they said I fixed it. So we tested it out and it didnt work ha sorry but it didnt. So I gave it a shot and I remember many things which my father taught me. I took some time and did it right the first time. So that is all it took was just something simple. Nothing to hard we couldnt fix though. I am sure glad my father taught me some easy fixing tricks over the years. It sure has helped me here. I know that we or you can apply this to you life in some way shape or form. Sometimes it just takes something simple to fix the problem. Other times it is worse and takes more to fix the problem. Well can be fixed though in time. Okay on this past week we had another baptism!! Ah it was such a great blessing!! We met this girl about a month ago and she had some commandment problems but we did not stress out about that. We supported this sister everyday. We continued to teach and care. One month later she got baptized. She got baptized this past Saturday and on Sunday she got the Holy Ghost. Her name is Nam. She has so much happiness now! From the first time we met to now you can see how this gospel has changed her and brought so much happiness into her life. I am so happy for this sister and her willingness to change and follow the Savior! I will strive myself to follow the Savior and help others know what He has in store for them. A goal this week I made was to invite all the homeless and needy who are begging for money to come to church. I think of Amos 3:6 I believe it is where it says, gold and silver have I none but what I have I will give thee. I know this is something that Christ would do and I know it is what one of the Apostles did. So I am going to try and do it everyday. I challenge you all to try it yourself it if is possible. Also I finished 1 Nephi 17 today. Where it talks about how Nephi should go and build a ship. Nephi has a lot of faith and is obedient to what the lord commands. I really liked studying from this chapter. If you can take some time and read from this chapter. I know you will learn something knew you never thought of before. I hope you all a great week. Week 7 Samut Prakaan

Dear Friends and Family

To be honest not much happened this week. This past week was transfers and we didnt get the call for who was leaving almost until Wednesday. So that kind of set just a few things back. Other than that we right on task. Elder Gage is still my companion and we got two new Elder Christensen who has been out for about almost 18 months and Elder Nelson who has been out for about 6 months. Its great Elder Gage will be able to be with me for another 6 weeks. He is a great missionary and does a lot to help me. He is patient with....lets just say everything.

This past week we have gotten to meet with our Recent Convert Sister Booy and teach her all the lessons over again. She lost her phone so we have no way to contact her. So the other day we went to buy some food for fast Sunday and she calls us and says she is at the church. We hadnt set up an appointment with her so we were just a little confused. So we went to the church and found here there. A member who lives across the street from the church saw her and let her use her phone to call us. So then we just decided to have a lesson about some commandments and then right before we were about to teach her, we thought that watching Finding Faith in Christ was better. So we got that all sent up and then the member who lives across the street had a non member friend walk into the church. So then we decieded to have our RC help us teach this lady, so we taught her. This lady is just going on and on about how here kids are bad and how she has the dogs that bark all the time. If you ask me the dogs sounds like a personal problem. haha Anyways we taught her and she is now a new investigator. A funny string of events. It all led to something good though.

We are also working with a investigator who is really good. he name is Nam. She keeps all her commandments and has quite drinking coffee, tea and beer and that is a big step for her. We plan on teaching her more until she is ready to be baptized. She doesnt really have the urge to yet but we will keep trying. Other than that we invited a lot this last week and we have worked with some LA( Less Actives) and have brought some back to church! Cant let any get away! ha

I also this past week I started the Book of Mormon over again. I read everything up until 1 Nephi. You can learn soo much just from reading that. If you havent had the chance to do so in a while I suggest that you take some time and read it. You will learn so much from it. I promise you. If you havent read the Book of Mormon yet I encourage you to do so. It will help you to have more happiness in your live I promice. Well I hope you all have a great week! Take care!
